Architectural Drawings

Planning permission:

A measured survey can be done to provide drawings of an existing building including plans, elevations and sections. These are prepared using CAD (computer aided design) and the data stored on disk or hard drive.

These drawings can then be amended as many times as necessary during the design and consultation process to show the preferred option for proposed changes or extensions. The final drawings can be printed up to A1 size and used to apply for full planning permission or for listed building consent.

This is part of a scale drawings prepared for a planning application

Building Regulations:

Drawings prepared for planning permissions are increased to a larger scale and cross sections through the buildings are drawn to show the construction details of the walls roof , floor and other structural elements. Additional drawings of any other important details are added at an even larger scale if necessary to describe the works.

Specification notes are also added to the drawings to ensure compliance with all the relevant building regulations. These notes are sufficiently detailed to enable most builders to provide fixed price quotations for all the work proposed on the drawings.
